Guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque enjoys a career that spans the spectrum of musical styles. Moving easily between jazz and classical guitar, Fareed's versatility has created a demand for him with prominent jazz and classical artists including Paquito D'Rivera, Dave Holland, Sting, Joe Henderson, Joe Zawinul, Javon Jackson, Cassandra Wilson, Kurt Elling, Lester Bowie, Arturo Sandoval, Ramsey Lewis, Edgar Meyer, members of the Vermeer Quartet and many symphony orchestras in the U.S. and abroad. Fareed has twice been selected Talent Deserving Wider Recognition in Downbeat magazine. In 1989, Fareed joined the faculty of Northern Illinois University, where he currently holds an associate professorship in jazz and classical guitar studies. In 2001 Fareed co-founded the jam super-group Garaj Mahal and continues to record and tour with the Fareed Haque Group.

Richard Thompson's "1000 Years of Popular Music" Added to Lineup
We are thrilled to announce that we were able to get the Richard Thompson show "1000 Years of Popular Music". This is the final leg of the show and it has been getting rave reviews. For those unaware of Richard Thompson, he is a British folk icon who got his start with Fairport Convention in the late 1960's. Fairport's 1969 release "Liege and Leaf" was voted as the most influential folk album of all time by the BBC. He went solo in 1971, recording a long line of critically acclaimed ablums throughout the 1970's and 80's.In 1992, his album "Rumor and Sigh" was nominated for a Grammy. He was named by Rolling Stone as one of the Top 20 Guitarists of all time and was a recent recipient of both an Ivor Novello Award for songwriting and the 2006 BBC Lifetime Achievement Award. He is admired and recorded by such artists as Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, David Byrne and Linda Ronstadt. We are very excited to include Richard in our series.

Chris Thile and the Tensions Mountain
Boys Being Rescheduled
We just received word that Chris Thile and the Tensions Mountain Boys is being rescheduled. The date will most likely happen some time in April and we are working with the venues on availability. We may be able to work in an additional show which I believe would be a great show to see and that is 1000 years of Popular Music featuring Richard Thompson. I have included a link to the show so you can catch a glimpse of the content but it looks like a fun and interesting show performed by a British legend that I believe would be a great addition to the package. We would like your input.
